Nathan (drums, bells, organs) and PJ (guitars, ebow, trumpet) have been soaking the mid-atlantic with wave after wave of melodic instrumental rockers since 2002. This Richmond, VA based duo, along with their latest release “I See The Nightbirds” are moving their way up and down the east coast. They join me in studio on this episode.

Yesterday marked the launch of 2 NEW sites that I get to be a part of. Superhero Enterprises and THE DROP. Here’s the low down.

Superhero Enterprises is a New parent company in the media/entertainment category. We have a few projects up our sleeves for the very near future but in the mean time our first offering is THE DROP. This weekly entertaining podcast will be available starting 3/19 and features a couple of casual conversations with those in Music, Film, Print, TV who are the movers and shakers in their genre. In addition, it’s people that I have a lot of respect for and I get the opportunity to talk with them about what’s happening in their sphere. What we’re focusing on is more than just a first look or the standard interview. Our aim is to give an opportunity for you to be engaged by these semi off beat conversations to make our guests more accessible. In short, to give you more insight into the lives of those we’re big fans of.
So please check out all that is happening - and believe me it’s a lot. Don’t forget to sign up for the email list, many prize packs await you there.
Big Congrats to Ryan and Kelly for winning the first grandchild award. It was tough competition but you’ve done it. So what does that mean? That Portnoys are getting a healthy head start in world domination.
Here’s the picture they gave my parents to let them know the news.

I don’t know what today holds for us Mac users but it’s spposed to be something big. Steve Jobs just turned 51 last week but he’ll be giving the world a present later tomorrow (3/28). The rumor mill is working overtime with anticipation of what will be shown.
The pictures above are just one example of what “could” be. Also on the docket are Intel Mac Mini’s and possiblt blue tooth wireless iPod. I guess we’re all on shuffle… (that was particularly dumb)
This former front woman (Sixpence None The Richer) joins John and Dan for a sneak peek at her upcoming solo debut album, due Summer 2006. Leigh shares what she’s been working on in the studio with Pierre Marchand (Sarah McLachlan) in the form of “All Along the Wall”, a rough edit of what is sure to be a critically acclaimed album. In addition this episode goes on the record books as the first major label debut preview single to a podcast (Yeah, we feel that lucky)
