They’ve performed for thousands nation wide and they are leading the return of Soul Music back into the mainstream. Dan catches up with the group as they talk about the new album (releasing July 31st on Stax), new additions and what music they’re checking out now. A few times a year my local community radio station asks for pledges and these are crucial to the life blood of station. The money that they collect gets use to pay salaries, upgrade equipment and tons more. Just as important as calling and making a donation to the station are the people who answer the phones to take your money. This year they made a blanket request for people to help and I thought that this would be a great time to get off the wall and move from speculator to activist in the area of college/community radio. I’ve been a fan for years and actually rejoiced when the signal finally made it into town via a translator at WNRS Sweet Briar (See David Bazan Show).
So this year I’m taking some names and taking some numbers… but here’s the thing..
