iTunes elusive Top Ten
About 2 months ago, my good friend Tim Grahl announced that he was throwing his hat into the podcast ring. He had ideas for 2 shows, one based on his huge success around the mountain biking industry (check out his sites - Blue Collar MTB, twentynineinches, and a ton more as part of the Crooked Cog Network)

The other was the idea for a business podcast. Tim is a honcho with business guru and trend maven, Dane Carlson at Business-Opportunities.biz. They wanted to add an audio component to there massively successful blog. The pressure is on in a situation like that because they are THE largest business blog on the planet with hits of almost a million per month.

So when the gauntlet was thrown to have a show that was well thought out, entertaining and informative I had to assemble a killer team of minds and audio experts. That’s where Chris Wygal and Audio Concepts came in. He’s got a great set up in his studio and we’ve worked together on so many projects I’ve lost count. The best part is the creative process, when we got together (Tim, Chris, and I) we have the freedom to try stuff and also the freedom to say, “That sucked”.

That’s all the back story, and here’s what has happened. In just 4 episodes, The Biz Ops Podcast is at the #11 spot under Business News at the iTunes Music Store. Of course I’m thrilled since I host the show with Tim. But I think the idea of the show is important. Our goal is for someone to be able to listen to the show and be able to learn something that they can roll out into their business in 5 minutes. Business theory is great but I’m more of a rubber hits the road kinda guy. Thus far the guests have been incredible and if you only download one, I’d check out the most recent with Ramit Sethi. I say that because the show has already morphed since it’s inception, developing it’s own identity.

Also Tim’s Crooked Cog Podcast has made it to #7 under Outdoor Sports also at iTunes. It’s a great accomplishment. Way to go Tim and Chris.

Pattern is Movement and Bosc

This weekend is going to blow the doors off of Central Virginia as THE DROP Live! welcomes
two bands that are known for their icnredible music, and their ability to make women swoon.

First up are the fine gentlemen from Pattern Is Movement. These guys currently have a remix album to follow up the critically acclaimed “Stowaway”. On the one’s and the twos is none other than Scott Solter who has been the engineer behind The Mountain Goats and Spoon. The release is slated for October 10th and we’re thrilled to have them in town.

Then it’s Virginia newcomers, Bosc. These guys have spent most of the summer on the road touring the midwest and points east. These guys have had a huge amount of success in a very short amount of time. Their recent self titled EP has been in my player for several days and I’m excited for you to hear them. See you Saturday night for a memorable night.
