ORTIZ vs. SHAMROCK
July 7th, 2006

They are two of the most recognized UFC fighters of all time, and they have a
history of hatred that is unmatched in the world of mixed martial arts. After months of competition and confrontation on The Ultimate Fighter 3, coaches Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock will finally have their chance to go head-to-head inside the Octagon for the second time. And in the main event, “The Pitbull” Andrei Arlovski looks to avenge his recent loss to new UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia!

This fight was the greatest embaressment I’ve ever seen. This fight has been advertised, exploited, and built-up almost incessently, especially on Spike TV, for the last several months. Coming into the fight, Shamrock looked ready to kill the entire Huntington Beach community, while Ortiz looked like he knew he was about to get one of the greatest beatings in his life. In respect to Ortiz, he came out strong, and quickly got Ken to his back. However, after delievering several quick elbow-blows (say that 10 times fast) to Ken’s face, the ref stopped in and stopped the fight. I was pissed. Ken was more than capable of defending himself, he was just a little slow getting there. These guys should have fought to the death, instead they fought less than a minute. They need a Rocky-V style fight out in the streets. Rediculous.
The Arlovsky-Sylvia fight wasn’t much better. Not a single take-down. Not one. Zero. BULL CRAP. All they did was punch the whole TWENTY FIVE MINUTES. Granted, Arlovsky threw some weak kicks in the first round, but that was it. I had to fight to stay awake. What crap. It wasn’t even a good boxing match.
I doubt I’ll ever drop money on another UFC match again. If you wana see fighting, check out Pride Fighting and my boy Fedor. He’ll kill you.
