CBS’s Love Monkey is a show that enables. Not in the good way by empowering and inspiring and equipping. But by putting loaded pop culture weapons into the hands of those without the savvy of a life devoted to finding good music and entertainment that is enriching. Instead Tuesday Nights show was all about what cool music looks like, the importance of vinyl, and the complete surprise of ultra cool sonwriter, singer, producer - Ben Folds. But for so many who were scratching their heads at who Ben Folds was they made sure to include the Leann Rimes special appearance so we could come back to familiar ground. For other odd and slightly misplaced music for the ultra hip pics would include Calexico. I wonder if CBS is trying to create a show by which record companies would then pay big bucks to get there music on the show (thereby violating the very thing the show is supposed to stand for). And of course there is the smattering of musical offbeat hipsters (Dylan) and 70’s Rock Kings (KISS) so typical.
What do you think? My take is that it’s business as usual for the network and trying to capture more of the market share. Which bravo to them CBS has come a long way in the past few years. It’s amazing what a little CSI can do (and I watch it religiously, except when the guts are coming out.. I just can’t handle it)
So bottom line: Do I like this show? Maybe.
Is it set with a season pass on my TiVo? Yes.

A huge amount of congratulations goes out to those blogs, podcasts and websites that were nominated for a Bloggie.
But I would like to highlight a few for your voting pleasure.
Postsecret - more than likely I can’t type anything that you don’t already know about it. Other than this site may be the coolest community project gone oh so right.
Fark.com - Drew Curtis and his incredible user community gives me the best hilarious news every day. So I have to keep the glass cleaner for my monitor close by for easy cleanings after I spit my morning coffee on it.
The Snowsuit Effort - Ryan Keberly has been taking photos and putting a face with statistics in the Metro Detroit and I personally thank him for it.
Whatevs.org - Uncle Grambo and his “best evs” slang has got me caught somewhere the Nick and Jessica scandal and super hip up and coming music with a dash of sport-lore thrown in for good measure.
Davezilla - If you’ve never been there, than you haven’t experienced all the internet could be. Consistantly crafting the world around him and bringing the hilarity out of it. Thanks Dave.
Here’s the clincher, all of these web log authors have interviews on The Dropcast and it’s free for your downloading pleasure.

Last week I had a chance to get a preview on the upcoming release of Leigh Nash. In case you’ve been living under a rock I’ll catch you up. Ms. Nash and Matt Slocum combined to form the ultra fun and chick flick fav band of Sixpence None The Richer. Together they combined for multiple Dove Awards and several Grammy Nods.
But enough about the past. I’ve heard one track off the upcoming release and I can’t wait for the release. The best part is that you’ll also get to experience in just a few short weeks - courtesy The Dropcast and Nettwerk. Keep your spot on the internet close and I’ll keep you updated.

I just got confirmation today that UFC Welterweight Champion of the World will be joining John and I on the Dropcast this week. Stay tuned for his thoughts on his upcoming fight with cage fighting legend Royce Gracie and his take on Liddell/Couture 3 on PPV February 4th.
Let the comparisons with Napoleon’s Brother Kip begin (or continue)
