Very quickly Steve McQueen is becoming a fascination of mine. As an actor (Magnificent Seven, Nevada Smith, The Thomas Crown Affair) and as a person. I got a chance to watch a AMC special on McQueen and he was intriguing. It’s pretty obvious that Mr. Brad Pitt (also a fav) takes a lot of cues from this legend of the silver screen. Previously, my guilty pleasure for movies was James Dean (Giant, East of Eden) he always played the kid who was troubled and trying to figure stuff out. Maybe because I’ve officially entered the world of old (30’s) that persona doesn’t do anything for me anymore. McQueen’s characters still had their quirks but the anti-hero loaner with a good heart seems more appealing of late.
